20-year old FT4DOS has had a fruitful and fulfilling life. We took it as far we could on this earth, and now have commended it to the bit-bucket of digital afterlife. There is no resurrection pending. The F4DOS is survived by its 10-year old FT4Web successor.

Call us. We will help you, free, to switch over to FT4Web. FT4Web has been our flagship product for 10-years since 1998.

So What do I do now?

If you already have FT4Web installed, then please do nothing. The upgrade will happen automatically on your first update on or after July 11. 2008.

If FT4Web is not installed then, install FT4Web .

If you cannot get FT4Web to work on your computer call 866-295-0166 x 2.

What does this Upgrade mean to FastTrack Users?

There is no need for any FastTracker to change his subscription, call us, or add a database. Service will be uninterrupted. The conversion should be seamless.

Every FastTracker will have access to every issue that he had before the conversion. There is no change in the service. There is no change in price. There are no new features. If you have all the funds and stocks databases. then the new format databases will absorb about 300MB of disk space (a mere pittance on modern computers). The old Databases required 200MB.

Your families, exports, and other operations will be unaffected.

The database files will be split into smaller (but still very large) files. On conversion, these new databases will contain all the data that was in the old databases, and FT4Web will access all of the same data exactly as it did before the conversion.

Third Party Products

FastTools, Trade, and Rube require revision. Brian Stocks,  Roy Ashworth, and Ed Gilbert have agreed to make these revisions. Most other popular 3rd party products will not require any conversion , and will continue to work normally. We will publish links to their web pages and their downloads.

This database designed for individual investors holding no load, open end mutual funds and iShares ETFs. This database will contain 39 major market indexes. FastTools is a DOS program and has been straining in recent years to handle the growing FT Funds database. This change will greatly extend FastTools life.

How do I get the upgrade?

If you data is up to date, then you got the upgrade seamlessly. Nothing left to do. Otherwise, call 866-295-0166 .
